To Family (and Friends) Who Continue Supporting Trump

I do not relish the words you’re about to read, and honestly take no joy in typing them. I debated about even posting. This was originally going to be much longer, but, to be honest, I don’t like talking about this topic. It tires me out.

But we have to talk about it. So please either click the image, the title or right here to read.

The Ineptitude of the News Media

The news media has most definitely NOT learned from the lessons of 2016. Despite some journalists and editors proclaiming they were going to do some introspection to understand the role the media played in the 2016 election, the news media is falling into some of the same terrible habits that I personally believe helped allow Donald Trump become the current 45th President of the United States in the first place. Spoiler alert, it’s mostly about the ratings.

Wearing a Mask is Not Normal, But Neither is a Global Pandemic

I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of wearing a mask. It’s cumbersome, sometimes hard to breathe, and it feels weird to have to wear a mask in public places.

But I still wear one when I go grocery shopping. I still wear one when I have to be at work. I still wear one if I absolutely must go out. I don’t like it, yet I still do it. o find out why, you’ll need to hit up my newest Medium story by clicking on the title, the image or simply right here.

An Open Letter to the "Yeah, But..." Culture

I’m sorry you are scared. Truly, I do hear your anxious sighs and nostalgic laments. I can imagine how at this point in time the world you know feels as if it’s coming undone. Quite frankly, it is. I’m not going to sugar coat it, or try to frame this in a way that makes it sound as though this moment in time is just a speed-bump. It’s not. Instead, this point in history is long overdue road work with a sour smell. The smell, by the way comes from the many bodies you’ve tried to bury and bullshit you attempted to cover them with. I don’t type those previous words with malice or contempt, I’m just being honest.

Stop Waiting for the Heroes That are Already Here

In the last decade, the childhood memories of inspirational role-models have been stained with scandal. Perhaps it’s no coincidence the last few years have also seen many moving through existential crises of morality, coinciding with the rise in big-budget blockbusters featuring super powered crime-fighters saving the day with gusto and heart, fighting for truth. It’s no wonder people are so ravenous whenever a new superhero movie that isn’t Fantastic Four comes careening into the box office.

Discovering the Truth in Conspiracy Theories

Chances are, most everyone has at least heard of, or maybe even read about a specific conspiracy theory in passing. I’ll totally admit that there was a period of time when I was jumping down a few rabbit holes. But after a while, especially in the last few years, I’ve come to see conspiracy theories a little differently.

To find out how and why, you will need to check out the entire story on Medium at this link, or by clicking on the image or title. It's up to you if you'd like to hear the truth.

Food (Stamps) for Thought

With food on the brain, I wanted to look at a brief period in my life where I wasn't sure when my next meal was going to come about. It was actually not too long ago, when I was traveling with the goddess and we ended up landing in New Mexico for a spell, specifically working at a work exchange hostel that turned out to be a bit more intense than anticipated, yet also filled with many lessons.

But, as always, click in the link here, the photo or the title in order to read this post in it’s entirety,

Salvia Taught Me Something Totally Different Than Other Psychedelics

Out of all the psychedelic substances I have ingested thus far in my life, salvia (aka salvia divinorum) was the most memorable. To find out why, as always you’ll want to check out the full story on Medium through this link, clicking the title or image above. If you’re curious as to what poems and other thoughts I had while tripping my head off on salvia, you’ll want to buy my new book, “Poetry I Wrote on Drugs.”
