Out of all the psychedelic substances I have ingested thus far in my life, salvia (aka salvia divinorum) was the most memorable. To find out why, as always you’ll want to check out the full story on Medium through this link, clicking the title or image above. If you’re curious as to what poems and other thoughts I had while tripping my head off on salvia, you’ll want to buy my new book, “Poetry I Wrote on Drugs.”
Read MoreWith the exception of a few close friends, most people I told about an impending trip to Egypt were shocked. They were even more surprised to learn that I wanted to stay, for an extended amount of time. But when they asked why, I had no answer. I could only explain that I was NOT going to Egypt just so I could snap a few pictures with pyramids, gawk at local cuisines or follow the well worn trails of tourists circulating through the country like a passing gust of wind.

Read MoreThere’s a good reason why I don’t tell many people, not even co-workers or the parents of the Goddess the date in which my birthday falls. It’s not that I don’t enjoy birthdays anymore, it’s just, in many ways perhaps I’ve outgrown the trappings of what birthdays used to mean.

Read MoreI could go on and gush nostalgic about being fortunate enough to spend a great deal of my childhood weekends watching all kinds of cartoons, thanks in part to the Saturday morning Fox tribe at my parents house, then meeting up with the Warner Bros and Cartoon Network tribes later in the day at my grandparent’s house. They had cable. Later I would discover the much more adult themed tribes of HBO and Cinemax cartoons like Jack Off and the Beanstalk and I Married A Strange Person, playing in the wee hours of Sunday morning before going to church with my grandparents.
Despite the sheer amount of super heroics, insane siblings and scientific boy geniuses I crammed into my brain throughout childhood, there is one cartoon character that, to this very minute of this very day continues to rule them all; the OG Daffy Duck.
To understand how and why OG Daffy Duck is the my fave, you’ll either have to click on the title, or here to read the rest of the article on Medium.
Read MoreI prefer spending the "Holiday Season" (including Thanksgiving in this) with friends over family. Probably not a shocker to those who know me. It’s also probably not a surprise to the majority of people in the U.S who feel some form of obligation to spend time eating dinner with Uncles and Grandparents that, if drunk enough (though not necessarily), will more than likely say something racist.
For a while now, I’ve been pondering why the "holiday season" irks me. To discover the depths of this irking, you gotta check out the post in its entirety over on Medium here or by clicking the title or the image.
