Gratitudes with Attitude in 2020: #18 of 20

3 More Days Left in 2020

I’m grateful my body communicates in ways reminding me that, while I’m only 33, I’m still getting older. While I appreciate the inadvertent sighs that occur when I stand up or the fact that I need more than 4 hours of sleep a night, my body’s been most communicative in terms of the chemicals and nourishment I ingest. I will allow that maybe some of this is due to my diet of primarily eating fruits, veggies as well as plant-based meats and sweets, so potentially my body has become more used to these things as opposed to the foods with many chemicals and additives. Either way, my body is making it clear what it prefers:

  1. A quarter of a cup of coffee is all I need otherwise I feel more nervous than movie theater owners after Warner Bros. “bombshell announcement.”

  2. Even when a time comes where we can go back into movie theaters safely, I will no longer be munching on starbursts, gummies/sourpatch kids, and other chewy candies as they make my head hurt worse than listening to Trump speak for longer than 5 minutes.

  3. Sodas are mostly out of the question, aside from small amounts as they also give me a headache.

  4. Eating too much cow ice cream makes me feel bloated and tired, but thank the lords of dessert for coconut and almond ice cream, not to mention pies and cakes.

  5. Despite my proclivity for darker beers, my body says I can only drink roughly two on any given night because otherwise not only will my head hurt, but I’ll feel more bloated than Donald Trump looks.
