20 Gratitudes with Attitude in 2020: #21 of 20

Last Day of 2020

Despite the chaos wrought in the year 2020, I am grateful that two new traits of my being have blossomed in full force this year; discernment and adaptability. I’ve already mentioned my gratitude towards discernment earlier. But truly I’m grateful for my ability to adapt to different (if not unusual) situations, thanks in part through my travels in years past. While I acknowledge setting some lofty goals for the year 2020, I could (but won’t) look at the year as a failure because I only managed to publish one new book of poetry yet accomplished little else. I definitely started a bunch of things. I even tried my hand at a weekly blog focused on my life during COVID in San Antonio as a way to mostly update friends and family. But the news & updates were a roller coaster ride that teetered on derailing my sanity, so I stopped that too. Man, global pandemics sure have a way of messing up the creative process. But, I'm grateful that my adaptability allowed me to remind myself to take breaths and write when I can, even if those breaths come between anxious tears falling down my face as I curl up in the fetal position in the shower. I’m mostly kidding.

I’m also grateful for everyone, both friends and random followers who have continued enjoying my writing over the year, as well as all the new people who have followed or subscribed in the last few months, even if I haven’t posted every day.
